Jaykays Dance Company – more than just a dance school

We are a busy and expanding school based in Leamington Spa, established in 2006. The school offers children and young people classes in IDTA ballet, tap, contemporary modern, freestyle, acro dance, contemporary, musical theatre and LAMDA. Our teaching team is made up of members of the International Dance Teacher’s Association (IDTA) which is one of the world’s largest examination boards ,offering students the opportunity to take graded and OFQUAL recognised examinations. Our teaching team are also certified with the following programmes:
Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), iD Contemporary, National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD), Groove Aerobics.
We are a Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre (CDMT) recognised school, an external body ensuring that dance school’s deliver quality and safe dance practice. We are also a recognised “safe studio” with the Dance School Safeguarding Services. All of our teaching team are qualified, insured and in possession of a DBS certificate with up to date first aid and safeguarding training. Principal Jeren Hogben is the designated safeguarding lead, and Mental Health First Aider.

BALLET, TAP & CONTEMPORARY MODERN JAZZ
We believe that Ballet, Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz all fuse together to create the foundations of a strong and technical dancer. In this combination class students will develop the key skills needed for a dancer such as flexibility, strength, agility, musicality and expression.
- Additional classes such as Musical Theatre, Contemporary, LAMDA* and Pointe are charged at the single class cost rate stated above according to the class length
- 50% sibling discount is available for the lowest paying sibling
- *LAMDA is a small group class and will be charged at £9.50
- Using our direct debit system (GoCardless) fees are collected monthly. Fees are calculated over 39 weeks of the year and spread over 12 months. This does mean a payment will be collected in August to help spread the cost. Please do not cancel your August payments, as they are a pro-rata contribution to annual cost of classes.

Please follow the link to our timetable. Our timetable is divided up into school years, so it should be clear as to what classes are available for your child. However, if your child is joining us with previous dance experience and qualifications, then please refer to the Grading system.
Booking a free trial…
Your class teacher will be expecting you, but please do approach them and introduce yourself. Your class teacher will have a quick chat with you to explain what the class will look like that day. Your child is able to join in with as much or as little as they wish. Please note that our teachers and student teachers are excellent and very experienced at settling and welcoming new starters. If your child is a little anxious about coming into class independently, then you are welcome to sit in during their free trial remaining seated at a distance. You know your child and their needs best, so please do what is right for you. Please feel free to familiarise yourself with our teaching team HERE
What to wear
Please just dress is suitable clothing to dance in. No skirts, jeans or dresses. If you are keen to read more about uniform then please click the button below.
Enrolment
If you would like to enrol following your free trial, then please ask your class teacher or assistant teacher for the link to our New Starter E-PACK. Once you have completed the registration form within the E-PACK, we you will receive an invoice for the remaining lessons that month. A fee and enrolment confirmation email will follow with a link to activate your GoCardless account. Payment is then taken monthly via GoCardless on a monthly basis.
If you do not want to take the place up then please do let us know so we can free the space up for another new starter.
