BALLET, TAP & CONTEMPORARY MODERN JAZZ
We believe that Ballet, Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz all fuse together to create the foundations of a strong and technical dancer. In this combination class students will develop the key skills needed for a dancer such as flexibility, strength, agility, musicality and expression.
FREESTYLE & ACRO DANCE
Freestyle is a modern and commercial genre of dance where students can dance to all the latest hits. Acro Dance fuses together acrobatic skills with dance to create a beautiful acrobatic art fit for stage. Students will explore the 5 strands to the Acrobatic Arts syllabus; flexibility, limbering, tumbling, balance and strength.
MUSICAL THEATRE & LAMDA
Our singing, dancing and acting classes, all led by our ex-West End star teacher, are a fantastic opportunity to explore musical theatre whilst building confidence. Small group LAMDA speech, acting and drama classes can be taken to develop key skills such as characterisation and voice expression, as well as widen a student’s vocabulary and speaking and listening abilities.
PBT
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) incorporates a range of exercises designed to create the muscle memory required for ballet. PBT training is combined with a pointe work class to contribute to a student’s ballet development.
CONTEMPORARY
Our contemporary dance classes are technically challenging, using traditional techniques with modern styles and methods making the classes unique, current, fun to learn and a joy to dance. They allow students to be truly expressive with the freedom of movement through improvisation opportunities.
Jaykays Dance Company is a Leamington Spa based dance school offering classes in IDTA Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Freestyle, Musical Theatre and Acrobatics.
