Welcome to Jaykays Dance Company
Hello and welcome to Jaykays Dance Company. We are a busy and expanding dance school based in Leamington Spa, established in 2006. The school offers children and young people classes in IDTA ballet, tap, modern jazz, freestyle, and musical theatre. We are also Acrobatic Arts certified teachers and a Progressing Ballet Technique registered studio.
Our Teaching Team is made up of members of the International Dance Teacher’s Association (I.D.T.A.) which is one of the world’s largest examination boards covering a spectrum of dance styles offering students to take graded and vocational Ofqual recognised examinations.
Children can do as little or as much as they want within reason. There are opportunities to perform in our annual school show at The Royal Spa Centre and our in-house awards day, compete in dance festivals, take graded examinations and perform at local events. We also run Summer Schools, deliver after school clubs and nursery classes and host dance parties with our JKDC Party Movers team!
First and foremost we offer fun and friendly classes for pupils to learn and develop dance steps and technique. We believe that dance helps boost self-esteem and self-confidence. It is a fun and effective form of exercise that improves strength and flexibility and is also a fantastic opportunity to socialise and interact with others and form long lasting friendships. It’s a perfect combination of physical activity, social interaction, and mental stimulation.

We offer one free trial at JKDC to try before you buy. Following your trial you will need to complete a registration form. If your classes take place at The Brunswick Hub you will need to complete an additional form for their admin purposes. Once we have your form we can add you as a customer onto our software and you will be invoiced for the remaining weeks in the term. Your email address will automatically be added to our mailing list.
At JKDC we offer great value multiple class packages so pupils can take more subjects at a low price. We also offer a very generous 50% discount for siblings. Classes run term-time only so invoices are issued termly via email. You then have 14 days to make the payment. Invoices must be paid in full despite any missed sessions. Payments received after the 14 days will receive a £2.50 late fee. Cash and cheques are accepted but we do encourage you to pay by bank transfer. Details of how to do this are outlined on the Terms and Conditions page.
We understand that you may wish to wait until you get kitted out so please just wear appropriate clothing and footwear until you do. We have two online shops where you can purchase all dance wear and the JKDC branded uniform. Please ask your class teacher what items you need to order and do not hesitate to ask our advice on sizing.
There is also a second hand dance wear page on Facebook: Leamington Dance wear For Sale Page. Again, please do ask us for advice before buying anything. We usually find that a lot of second hand dance shoes are not ideal as they have moulded to the shape of the previous owner.
You can access all three shops via the link below.
At JKDC our Teaching Team are very dedicated to safeguarding students. All members of staff leading classes are qualified to teach, are in possession of a current DBS certificate, have the relevant insurances and First Aid certificates. At all of our venues there are waiting areas where you can remain on site if you wish to do so. With our very young students attending the Little Rascals classes then please do inform us if you are leaving the premises and retuning to collect. Our younger students will also always be chaperoned to the toilets by our student teachers, so please do make us aware if this is a problem. Please remember that we are only responsible for your child during the stated class times.
Please make a quick call, email or text to the appropriate teacher if your child cannot attend a class. Moreover, if you wish to stop classes altogether please pay the remaining balance of your current invoice and give us two weeks notice us so we can free up the space in the class.
Please read our terms & conditions page carefully and tick the box on your registration form to acknowledge that you have read and agree to them.
We hope you enjoy your time at Jaykays Dance Company. Thank you for choosing us!
